MULTI-POLAR RF + PULSED ELECTRO-MAGNETIC FIELDS (MP²)

DiamondPolar™ Skin Tightening

An MP² treatment that combines Multi-Polar Radiofrequency (RF) with Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMF) to support the appearance of firmer-looking skin and smoother-looking facial wrinkles and rhytides.

Treatment suitability is confirmed in consultation.

TARGET AREAS

Commonly treated areas

Radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening generates controlled heat within the dermis. This controlled thermal effect can cause collagen fibres to contract and may support longer-term dermal remodelling, including new collagen and elastin production. Areas are confirmed during consultation based on laxity pattern, skin quality and comfort.

THE SCIENCE

MP² Energy Map

DiamondPolar combines multipolar radiofrequency (RF) with pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF). RF devices generate controlled heat in deeper skin layers to support collagen and elastin—mechanisms used in non-invasive skin tightening. PEMF has been studied in laboratory and preclinical settings for its effects on fibroblast activity and collagen deposition. Together, RF + PEMF has also been evaluated in peer-reviewed clinical studies in aesthetic medicine.

MULTIPOLAR RF

RF uses low-frequency electromagnetic energy to generate controlled heat in deeper skin layers. This thermal effect is used to support skin firmness and texture:

  • Immediate collagen contraction from heat exposure

  •  Longer-term collagen renewal as the skin remodels over time

  • Commonly used for non-invasive skin tightening approaches

PEMF

PEMF delivers non-thermal electromagnetic pulses. In laboratory and preclinical research, pulsed magnetic/electromagnetic fields have been studied for their effects on cellular signalling and fibroblast activity—processes related to collagen production and tissue remodelling.

  • Non-thermal pulses (does not rely on surface heating)

  • Studied in preclinical settings for fibroblast activity and collagen-related pathways

  • Evaluated in aesthetic medicine alongside RF in peer-reviewed studies

In simple terms: RF = controlled dermal heating. PEMF = non-thermal pulses explored for bio-stimulatory effects. MP² pairs both within one session plan.

PROTOCOL (PUBLISHED)

  • FDA 510(k) summary describes Venus Freeze (MP²) as a non-invasive, non-ablative system combining RF electrodes with pulsed magnetic field coils (K111670).

  • Face/neck study: treated once weekly for 8 weeks; protocol aimed to reach ≥40–42°C and maintain it for 20–30 minutes.

  • Parameters were adjusted to tolerance and area; glycerin used as coupling medium (study method).

WHAT THE STUDY REPORTED

  • Study size: n=11 (mild–moderate photoaging).

  • Skin laxity improved in 100% of participants (investigator assessment).

  • Facial contour improvement was reported as 73–100% depending on investigator scoring; photos assessed 1 week after the final session.

SAFETY (HIGH-LEVEL)

  • Expected: mild redness and swelling may occur and usually settle within 24 hours (general RF safety guidance).

  • Rare: excessive heat can cause burns.

  • Suitability is confirmed in consultation; see DP08 for the full checklist.
